The sign at this old Cobb & Co staging post says it all: Toompine - the pub with no town! This dinkum outback pub is over 100 years old and comes with a blue heeler, camel, donkey, alpacas, goats, birds and sheep. The kids will love it.
An ancient petrol bowser, a sign just for dogs and a blue tractor up a tall pole are just some of the items offering very unusual photo opportunities. A myriad of channels in the area provide water and food sources for the local birds and native animals and with the Bulloo River next door, it’s a great spot to camp for the night.
Ask for directions to the lonely, little Toompine cemetery about one kilometre from the pub and find out why it is called a ‘cemery’ (not cemetery).
